Property overview and concept

”A hostel with private cabins”

The building is designed to evoke a ship.
Each accommodation floor takes inspiration from Kanagawa’s port towns and historic post towns. The stairways connecting the floors invite you to discover the changing history of Yokohama and Chinatown.

In the basement, the ship’s hold, we provide luggage storage and a lounge where you can unwind and talk with fellow travelers. Historic objects and records evoke Japan and Yokohama’s past, memories of the Showa era, and the international cultural influences welcomed by this port city. Please enjoy the records freely and handle them and the exhibits with care, as some are valuable vintage items.

We hope your stay at Retrospect Stay Yokohama helps you discover the past of the place you are visiting and the changing city outside.

Private cabins and rooms are individual spaces, but they are not soundproof. Please be considerate with conversations and other noise so everyone can enjoy their stay.
